Our Union

The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) is the Toronto-local of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO). The local—the largest in Canada—acts as the representative body for more than 11,000 elementary teachers (K-8) employed by the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

The Toronto Local shall be a unified, democratic organization of informed professionals which will anticipate and respond to the needs of its diverse membership, as well as advocate for children and public education.

ETT serves approximately 11,000 elementary teachers (K-8) employed by the TDSB across more than 500 schools/sites. To reach such a large and diverse group, the organization works continuously to educate and inform, and provides a wide range of ongoing opportunities.
