The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) is the Toronto-local of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO). The local—the largest in Canada—acts as the representative body for more than 11,000 elementary teachers (K-8) employed by the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
ETT is a membership organization that anticipates and responds to the needs of its diverse membership by:
The Toronto Local shall be a unified, democratic organization of informed professionals which will anticipate and respond to the needs of its diverse membership, as well as advocate for children and public education.
The ETT Executive serves to provide support to enhance members’ working lives, and protect and defend collective bargaining rights and public education.
ETT serves approximately 11,000 elementary teachers (K-8) employed by the TDSB across more than 500 schools/sites. To reach such a large and diverse group, the organization works continuously to educate and inform, and provides a wide range of ongoing opportunities.
ETT partners with dozens of organizations in Toronto and across Canada in support of its members, public education, students, workers’ rights, and more.
