Bio:

Jay Martin is one of the most sought-after entertainers in Toronto. Known for his clean yet hilarious comedy routines, Martin has carved out a niche that no other comedian can quite fill. His diverse skills and range have earned him the nickname of Canada’s Renaissance Man, a title he wears well.

As a morning show radio host and former JUNO award winner, Martin was recognized in 2022 as one of Afro Global’s 100 most influential Black Canadians. Over his 16-year career, he has had the opportunity to host and open for top acts such as Russell Peters, Steve Harvey, Kirk Franklin, Jamie Foxx, and Cedric the Entertainer. Martin has also produced several successful shows, including the Jay Martin Uptown Comedy Series, the Trinidad vs. Jamaica Mother’s Day Show, and Three the Hard Way. His events are regular highlights on Toronto’s social calendar, with fans eagerly snapping up tickets.

Martin’s talents extend beyond comedy. He has curated R&B events featuring artists like Faith Evans and SWV and has showcased his acting skills in stage productions such as Diary of a Mad Black Man, The Wedding Counsellor, and most recently, Ninety-Four. Additionally, he has written a feature-length film script titled Destination Wedding and is currently in talks with major broadcasters about developing a 12-episode sitcom series.
