ETT members, Friday December 8, 2023, is our Federation Day. This year’s theme is, We Make The Future: Fighting for the Schools Our Students Deserve.
We are very excited to come together this year. As you know, your union has won this day in our collective agreement as a time when teachers are released to attend ETT-organized professional development activities. Now more than ever it is especially important to come together.
Federation Day is organized in an A.M. and P.M. format. This year, we will have the ability to come together either in-person at the Beanfield Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto or participate virtually via the Whova platform.
This year during the A.M. session (in-person and live-streamed), we are excited to welcome Jesse Wente, broadcaster, Indigenous advocate and pop culture philosopher, as our Keynote Speaker.
The morning program will also feature remarks from Randy Robinson, Director of the Ontario office of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. Randy’s background includes research and writing on public services and public finance, labour markets and precarious work, and economic thought.
There will be a wide variety of workshops for Members to attend—from Confronting and Preventing Hate in Canadian Schools to Creating Affirming Spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ Students.
Space is limited, so make sure to claim your seat as early as possible.
