- February 5, 2024
- February 15, 2024
- Red for Ed Friday on March 1, 2024
Entering the contest is simple! Starting February 5th, submit your school photo by posting it publicly on Facebook, Instagram or X with the hashtag #ETTRedForEd and your school’s name. Be sure to tag @ElemTeachersTO as well! Your picture will automatically appear in our photo gallery, pending admin approval. Encourage your friends and colleagues to vote by clicking on their favourite picture and then “liking” it by clicking on the heart. Check back periodically to see where your school stands on the leaderboard!
The top 3 schools with the most ‘likes’ by the end of the 4-week period will win a lunch for participating staff only. The 4th and 5th place winners will win coffee and donuts.
Winners will be announced the week of Monday, March 4, 2024.
Please read the contest details before participating. Click here for the rules and details.
Why wear red? The Red for Ed movement is a North America-wide movement in support of strong, fully-funded public education. It is a tangible way for teachers and education workers to show solidarity during bargaining and stand up for students. Wearing red makes the fight for public education visible to our communities and decision-makers.
This week’s theme:
Seeing Red
The next Red for Ed is Friday March 1st and there’s so much to See Red about in our schools.
Take your group pic, and don’t forget to tag us in your social with #ETTredfored. Winners of best pics as chosen by you will be announced on March 4th so don’t forget to vote for your favourites before then!
How many colleagues can you get at your school to participate in #ETTRedforEd? Show us in your social media post! Remember to tag #ETTRedForEd and your school on Instagram, Facebook or X to submit your picture for the contest, which will be automatically posted in our picture gallery after admin approval.
