In recognition of the shooting in the Islamic Cultural Centre in Quebec City on January 29, 2017, the Federal government declared the date a National Day of Remembrance for the victims of this Islamophobic attack. Six worshippers were killed and many more injured in the attack.
Annual vigils are held across Canada to remember the victims of this attack. ETFO encourages all schools and communities to observe this Day of Remembrance and work to end Islamophobia throughout the year.
