In accordance with an Executive Motion passed in June, all Regional Organizer elections were to have taken place by September 18, 2020.
Recognizing the technical challenges of virtual elections, in addition to current workload, a written communication was sent to the ETT Executive stating that every election needed to be conducted in a timely manner prior to September 18, 2020, and that all elections were to be completed no later than September 25, 2020.
All ETT Executive Officers who were unable to conduct an election prior to September 18, 2020 were to notify ETT President Jennifer Brown, so that support could be provided and an appropriate date could be scheduled prior to September 25, 2020.
According to Article 6.2.2 of the ETT Constitution, the responsibility for conducting a meeting to elect a Regional Organizer lies with the Executive Officer assigned to that Ward.
As of October 2, 2020, Executive Officer Rodriguez has not conducted an election for the purpose of electing a Regional Organizer in Ward 5.
The ETT Executive will meet to discuss next steps in order to rectify this situation and to ensure that the ETT Constitutional Procedures are followed.
