Professional Development Opportunity to Participate in the National Alliance of Black School Educators in Atlanta, Georgia

The Elementary Teachers of Toronto is offering to send 4 members to the 2024 National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) Conference, taking place from November 20 – November 24, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. The NABSE Conference is dedicated to advancing academic success for Black students and fostering excellence among Black educators through networking, professional development, and capacity building. The principles of the NABSE conference align with ETT’s mission, vision, and commitment to equity.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must not have attended a NABSE conference in the past.

  • Preference will be given to members who demonstrate a strong alignment with ETT’s equity goals.

Selection Process

To ensure transparency and fairness, members interested in attending the NABSE conference are invited to submit an application below. Four applicants will be chosen based on the selection criteria.

  1. Relevance to Conference Goals: Demonstrated alignment with the NABSE mission of supporting Black students and educators.

  2. Commitment to Equity and Inclusion: Evidence of active engagement in equity-related initiatives within the school or ETT community.

  3. Leadership Potential: Experience leading or participating in programs or initiatives that promote anti-oppressive education or support marginalized students.

  4. Impact and Knowledge Sharing: Clear plan for sharing insights gained at the conference with ETT members and within the participant’s school.
