Message From ETT President Jennifer Brown: Mental Health and Wellness Resources – Your Union is Here For You

It’s been an unprecedented, chaotic, and stressful year in education.

Understandably, as we lurch from crisis to crisis in our schools, the strain has been cumulative, impacting our members’ mental health and wellness.

I want you to know that I am here for you, as is the rest of your ETT Executive.

Please acknowledge and validate your feelings and know that you are not alone. If you need support during this difficult time, please reach out to me or to your Executive Officer.

Members are also advised to consider contacting FeelingBetterNow, a mental health management program available 24/7 online and brought to you by your union through OTIP.

FeelingBetterNow provides web-based mental health management that guides members and their care provider (e.g. counsellor, psychologist, or family physician) to identify emotional and mental health issues as early as possible.

This is a valuable service that can help you get the right diagnosis and treatment to feel better sooner.

Access the FeelingBetterNow website to get started.

Members are also encouraged to review the attached ETFO PRS bulletin concerning mental health for additional supports and information.

Stay Healthy and Strong,

Jennifer Brown
ETT President
