Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference 2024 Application

ETT members, this is your opportunity to participate in the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Old Mill Inn, Toronto, ON. Please complete the following application. This application will be used to determine which members will be selected as delegates. 

ETT has 7 spots available to members to attend the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference in Toronto. Release time, travel, parking and meals will be covered as per ETFO guidelines.

Please complete your application by Tuesday, February 13, 2024. 

Selected candidates will be notified no later than Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and given details about registration.

The Plan

Applicants must outline a clear plan of how they will use the information and skills gathered from the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference to engage in community, labour and political action activities, member mobilization and organizing.

Please outline a plan and timeline for activities that you will engage in at and following the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference.

Members who are selected to attend the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference will be paired with members of the ETT Anti-Racism Ad Hoc Committee to assist carrying out the plan of action upon return from the Harmony Movement Educators Anti-Racism Conference.

 

CLC 2023 Application Rubric 

Level Four

  • Clear description of five (5) or more specific achievable community, labour or political activities with detailed timeline and concrete connections to advancing strategic priorities of ETT with links to planned personal activism
  • Much evidence of commitment to using learned content to build and maintain working relationships with other ETFO locals, labour organizations and/or community groups
  • Detailed demonstration of links to individual practice and articulated connections to larger goals in global, federal, provincial and municipal politics
  • Focus on preservation and protection of publicly-funded public education

 

Level Three

  • Description of five (5) specific achievable community, labour or political activities
  • with timeline and connections to advancing strategic priorities of ETT with links to planned activism
  • Evidence of commitment to using learned content to build and maintain working relationships with other ETFO locals, labour organizations and/or community groups
  • Demonstration of links to individual practice and connections to larger goals in global, federal, provincial and/or municipal politics
