Curious about starting a Rainbow Club or Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA), but unsure where to begin—or how to navigate the questions that can come with it? This session is designed to support educators at any stage, whether you’re just exploring the idea or looking to strengthen an existing club.
The 2SLGBTQIA+ Committee is inviting you to join us in a relaxed, supportive environment where we’ll focus on practical, policy-aligned approaches to creating safer, more inclusive school communities.
Topics will include:
- How to promote your club in ways that are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with Board expectations
- Low-prep activities and meeting ideas that build trust and belonging
- Conversation starters for navigating student questions and classroom realities
- Board-approved and union-supported resources available to you
This session is especially suited for educators who may feel hesitant, new, or unsure—and want clear, respectful guidance grounded in equity, professionalism, and care for student wellbeing.
Facilitated by Jocelyn Harrison.
Jocelyn is a TDSB elementary teacher who has been running her school’s Rainbow Club for 11 years. She works in a Middle School where she is also the school Librarian.
