This year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration and Death Camp.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day on 27 January that commemorates the victims of the Holocaust, the genocide of European Jews by Nazi Germany between 1941 and 1945. 27 January was chosen to commemorate the date that Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated by the Red Army in 1945.

ETT members visited the Toronto Holocaust Museum and attended a meaningful guided tour by the Museum’s Chief Curator yesterday Sunday Jan.26/25. The tour highlighted the collection, curatorial approach, and reflection on the history and significance of Auschwitz.

During our visit we had the opportunity to attend a thought-provoking talk with author Kathy Kacer, who shared her insights on adapting Max Eisen’s best-selling memoir By Chance Alone (2016) for young readers, ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust resonate with future generations.

The ESJ committee purchased copies of her book, By Chance Alone: A Remarkable True Story of Courage and Survival at Auschwitz, to offer members in a book draw.

To enter the draw, please complete the form below. Winners will be selected at random by ETT and contacted directly. Limit: 1 entry per ETT Member.
