Doris Ferguson Memorial Bursary Awards Applications 2026

The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) is offering four bursaries ($100 each) to students who demonstrate leadership in the areas of social responsibility, anti-racism, equity, inclusion, and/or social justice initiatives in our elementary schools.
ETT provides this award in honour of Doris Ferguson, who served as a Community Liaison Officer in Toronto for many years. Her work in building positive bridges within our schools had a lasting impact on students, staff, and communities.
This bursary recognizes students who are making meaningful contributions to creating more just, inclusive, and equitable school communities.
Eligibility:
Schools may submit one or more applications on behalf of students who demonstrate leadership, impact, and commitment to:
  • Social responsibility
  • Anti-racism
  • Equity and inclusion
  • Social justice and/or peace initiatives
Recognition:
Four recipients will be selected. All nominees will receive an ETT certificate of recognition.
Deadline:
Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, May 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Apply below.
