About Women in Action
The workshop looks at the structure of ETFO and the opportunities that exist for women’s involvement. It examines styles of leadership focusing on the strengths women bring to an organization. Participants are encouraged to develop strategies to overcome barriers to women’s involvement and to plan activities that meet their needs. Finally, participants review and practice the skills they need to make their voices heard in meetings.
ETFO has adopted principles of promoting and protecting the interests of all members of the federation and of fostering a climate of equity. The constitution designates positions for women. On an on-going basis, ETFO needs a cadre of capable, confident women leaders who will participate fully in shaping the future of ETFO. Women in Action provides members who are not experienced with encouragement and opportunities to learn those necessary skills.
Level 1
Women in Action—Level 1 is for first time attendees only.
Dependent Care
Dependent care must be pre-approved and shall not exceed $75 per meeting day for each dependent.
Payment for child care is limited to dependents 18 years of age and under.
Deposit
A deposit of $100.00 (returned upon arrival at event) will be required by cheque, made out to the Elementary Teachers of Toronto and mailed to the attention of Karen Santer at 300-4211 Yonge St. Toronto, ON M2P 2A9.
