Many members have shared their concerns about the Vaccination Disclosure.
• The provincial government is requiring all publicly funded school boards to develop and implement immunization disclosure policies.
• Those working in publicly funded school boards including the TDSB are required to disclose their COVID-19 vaccine status to their employer by September 7, 2021. We have an extension by means of a “grace” period until the full procedure has been created.
• After consulting with ETFO and their legal counsel, ETT has concluded that the TDSB can require staff to disclose their vaccine status to them, and that this requirement does not constitute discrimination under Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
• TDSB has a legal obligation to ensure that staff health information is protected from unauthorized disclosure, and that it is only used for the purpose for which it has been collected.
