“$11 per hour is still 16% below the poverty line—it’s not enough!”

Sonia Singh, an organizer with the Workers’ Action Centre, speaking to Premier Kathleen Wynne’s announcement that the Minority Liberal government will propose legislation to raise the minimum wage in Ontario to $11.

As study, after study has concluded, $11 per hour still leaves tens of thousands of Ontario families below the poverty line. Ontario needs $14 now!
