Protest Bill C-23: The ‘Fair Elections’ Act

Bill C-23, the Fair Elections Act, is being debated in the House of Commons. This bill would eliminate Elections Canada’s ability to educate people about voting. Student Vote, for example, would no longer be supported by Elections Canada if the act passes. The act also potentially disenfranchises over 100,000 voters, opens loopholes in election financing provisions, and strips Elections Canada of its role in monitoring elections.
