Made in Queen’s Park: United Against Calandra’s Cuts
- On Tuesday June 9, Calandra and his hand-picked TDSB Director will hand parents a secretive 2026–27. Over the past weeks, they announced cut after cut for next year. Tomorrow will be the first time anyone outside the Minister’s office will see just how many more cuts will be added, but we know one thing for sure: it’s always the students who suffer the most.
Join us @ TDSB Head Office, 5050 Yonge Street, 6pm — 7pm for free coffee, free ice cream, flyering, kids activities, and talking with parents heading into the meeting.
- Teachers, education workers, and parents are standing together to expose what this budget really is: Ford and Calandra’s austerity agenda, dressed up as a TDSB budget.
Sunday, June 14
Family BBQ
- ETFO Toronto Occasional Teachers is holding a BBQ in the parking lot of IBEW Local 353 (1377 Lawrence Ave East) from 10am to 2pm.
Monday June 15
All Out Against Calandra’s Cuts!
- Calandra’s cuts are the worst we’ve ever seen, and the harm to our students and your ability to meet their needs is unprecedented. You’re angry, and so are parents and students. All front line staff from every union, working in your schools everyday across the city, are coming together for a Day of Action on June 15. Join your colleagues in this huge display of rage and solidarity and to send a message: We’re united against these cuts, and we’re fighting back!
- Here’s the ask, it’ll take you ten minutes. On June 15:
- Wear black;
- Make your sign. Fill in the blank: “When Calandra cuts_____, Our Students Lose_____.”
- Snap a solidarity selfie with your ALL your coworkers in front of your school before the bell, and walk into school together. (and send us the photo!)
- Sign and send the letter to Premier Ford, Minister Calandra, and the TDSB, and tell them directly: Reverse the Cuts! ett.ca/reverse-the-cuts

ETT @ Ford Fest
- On June 19, Premier Ford is throwing himself a BBQ at Thomson Memorial Park. Yes, the same guy who rips millions of dollars out of your kids’ schools every year.
- Ford’s Conservatives seem to find money for everything they want: private jets, luxury spas, election cheques, insider deals for his buddies. But when it comes to public education, he won’t spare a dime. And it’s the students that suffer most from these political decisions.
- Join your coworkers on the 19th as we make sure parents and attendees know the truth: our education system is suffering, and our students deserve better.
- Thomson Memorial Park, 1005 Brimley Ave. (main parking lot), 5pm — 7pm
